Community at St Peter's Church, Spexhall

Church, Village and Community Life

St Peter's Spexhall is one of the two smallest churches in the Team. We have a small electoral roll but what we lack in numbers we make up for in energy. As a church we contribute to Team life through our lay elder, and deanery life as one of the congregation is secretary to Deanery synod. Our Easter, Harvest and Christmas services are very lively, and we never have a service without a drink afterwards! We strongly believe that our faith, worship and mission is best demonstrated through our active community life.

We are an integral part of Spexhall village and community life so as well as traditional formal Sunday worship we also participate in a variety of village events. SeeĀ  http://spexhall.onesuffolk.net for up to date information about village events. The range of activities run by the Village Hall, include an annual village tea party in the meadow. Other events include an annual film night, a regular silent auction, wine tastings, French style open air lunches, the Dog show, the Art show, and many other great fun things to do! The village hall, which takes up to 80 people for a crowded party, or seats 50, is available for hire at very reasonable rates. Phone Sara on 01986 872346.

We run a day in June with the children from Ilketshall St Lawrence Primary School who spend a "conservation day" in the churchyard and meadow each year and display the children's work at the Patronal Festival on St Peter's day. (29th June, or the nearest Sunday).
