Welcome
-
Welcome to St Peter’s Holton. We’re a small church, about 25 people at most Sunday services, but a very welcoming and caring church; and we’re warm in winter too, with new heaters.
-
As well as Sunday services we have Morning Prayers, a quieter said service, at 9am on Fridays, attended by a handful of people.
Worship at St Peter's
You can be assured of a warm welcome at St Peter's.
Our Sunday worship follows the Team liturgies, other than the monthly BCP Evensong or Evening Prayer; lay people read lessons and intercessions, and occasional services are taken by a lay elder. We are always accompanied by an organist, and although we are only a small number, we like to sing! Friday prayers are quieter and may be more contemplative.
Events at St Peter's
Events and goings on at St Peter's, Holton:
Pop In Parlour is on the first Friday in the month, from September to May, from 12 noon to 1.30pm in St Peter’s Room in the church. Home-made (usually) soup & bread, cheese & pickle, and conversation are enjoyed by those who come. During Lent, Pop In Parlour is replaced by a weekly Lent Lunch, following the same pattern but without the cheese & pickle! The Christmas Bazaar is on Saturday November in the Village Hall.
